This paper is called the great blinz by analogy with "the great square ". The point is that folded blinz base form looks like an initial square. And, therefore, all models, which can be folded from a square can be folded from the blinz base too.

However, there is a question, what advantage can be derived from this base form? The presented technique as a minimum allows to expand the list of the base forms with so-called the blinz base forms. Let's consider, for example, a blinz and shall fold from it, as from an initial square waterbomb base. Thus we have received instead of the four pointed elements whole eight.

Really, earlier we had the pointed elements only from corners of a square. Now to them were appended also corners of the revolved square.

It gives much more opportunities at folding the complex models, for instance insects. Besides, the plenty of pointed elements is necessary for folding the flowers.
